After two long years, Angle’s Wrestlemania 35 opponent Baron Corbin has revealed that the Hall of Famer wanted to face John Cena in his retirement match at the Showcase of Immortals.
WWE News- Kurt Angle vs John Cena: In an interview with TalkSport, Corbin revealed that the history between Angle and Cena would have been more significant for the two to have a match at Wrestlemania 35 and perhaps would have been the best possible way to retire the legend called Kurt Angle.
“Yeah, everyone is going to have a dream match for their final match and I can’t ever imagine Kurt Angle was like ‘I want to wrestle Baron Corbin for my last match in WWE!’ He had history, he was Cena’s first match in WWE and I understand that completely. Who wouldn’t want to go out wrestling John Cena as their last match? It’s a phenomenal thing to do if you’re in the ring with him or Kurt – doesn’t matter.”

John Cena has always been on the radar as a dream opponent of budding as well as established Superstars in the company. He is the greatest face of WWE of all time, and there’s no one denying this fact.
Kurt Angle himself wanted to face John Cena and end a glorious career on a ridiculous high. The hall of Famer said,
“I wanted it to be my retirement match, and I’d loved to have wrestled John because you know I started out his career, and I wanted him to end mine, and you know, I was hoping that he would put me in that match, but it just didn’t happen.”
