WWE News – WWE struggling to sell tickets without John Cena? This WWE news piece is regarding John Cena. Ever since the 16-time World Champion returned at the Money in the Bank PPV on July 18, WWE’s viewership stock price and tickets saw an upward shift in paradigm. However, now when he has returned to Hollywood, the company is struggling to sell tickets.
WWE News: WWE is struggling to sell tickets now when Cena is gone
When WWE was hosting shows in the presence of a live audience, it was the same time when the 16-time World Champion returned to the fold for the company and got a massive apprehension among the audience. It was clear that Cena’s run would only last until August, and this was the only reason he lost the Universal Championship bout against Roman Reigns at the Summerslam PPV on August 21.
Now, when Cena is gone, ticket sales have also gone down.- WWE’s current ticket status was revealed by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer News. Below is his statement,
“If ever there was any argument about John Cena…I’m not saying throughout his entire career….but John Cena at this stage going to house shows and being a draw, boy did this year-end it because they were running around everywhere when he was working, and they were selling tickets. And they were doing very well, and now that he’s not there it has gone from great to so-so and maybe in some cases less than so-so. I mean bad, there are definitely bad ones now.”
He further added, “so yeah, WWE is definitely, based on modern standards, they are struggling to sell tickets.”
WWE News: When can John Cena return next?
There’s no news on when and where John Cena would return to WWE next. He has begun working on his Hollywood projects, and it seems like he won’t be back to WWE this year again. Maybe during the Wrestlemania season in March-April, we could see him grace WWE with his influential presence.
