On the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE commentator Michael Cole announced WWE’s decision to suspend Sasha Banks and Naomi indefinitely. However, the decision wasn’t taken well by the WWE Universe. The majority of the WWE fans gave their support to the former tag team champions.
Recently, reports are floating about Sasha Banks and Naomi’s contract expiration. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio gave a brief note on the former tag team champions’ contract. He mentioned Naomi’s contract is set to expire in 2 months but WWE might freeze it.
“There were also early reports that suggested Sasha Banks’ contract was also set to expire soon. However, Meltzer notes that both Superstars’ deals include language that would allow WWE to freeze their contracts for not performing. They would remain under WWE contract until the company decides to unfreeze them.” [via EWrestlingnews]
WWE has an option of freezing certain contracts when the superstars are injured for a long time. Eventually, WWE did with one of the former WWE Superstars Luke Harper aka Brodie Lee.

Sasha Banks is a multi-time champion of both Raw and SmackDown brands. Eventually, she is one of the female superstars who uplifted the women’s division from NXT to the main roster. Also, she was part of the four horsewomen of WWE alongside Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch.
It is hard for WWE to fire a big superstar who had made history in WWE. She even got her spotlight outside of WWE in shows like The Mandalorian and other celebrity spots. On the contrary, Naomi also holds a huge fanbase and her family relation to the Samoan family. Being the wife of Jimmy Uso, WWE would find it hard to fire her.
