WTC Final 2023, IND vs AUS: The final batch of India’s WTC 2023 Squad have arrived in England ahead of the World Test Championship Final 2023. Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane have joined the training session after the IPL 2023 Final on Monday night.

India currently have limited time to shift gears for a format change with the ICC World Test Championship Final beginning on June 7. IPL frenzy has only just subsided.

A few members of the Indian team have already landed in England and have begun preparing for the exciting conclusion at the picturesque Arundel Cricket Club.

The ace India pacer Shami posted in the wee hours of Thursday announcing that he has boarded flight to London. And it’s safe to presume that Shami must have landed in UK by now.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” wrote Shami.

The WTC, which was launched in 2019 to provide context for the game’s longest format, is in its second iteration. First edition’s champions, New Zealand, defeated India in the championship match by an eight-wicket margin in Southampton.

The prize pool for the WTC Final is $ 1.6 million, with $ 800,000 going to the losers.

Each of the nine ICC World Test Championship 2021–2023 competitors will receive a portion of the $3.8 million prize pool. By placing third in the ICC World Test Championship 2021–23 standings, South Africa has won $450,000.

With an aggressive playing style, England, which had a late comeback in the two-year cycle, finished fourth and received a $350,000 prize.

After losing the series in New Zealand, Sri Lanka, which was in contention to play in the championship, slipped to fifth position. Their prize money allotment is $200,000 total.

New Zealand, Pakistan, the West Indies, and Bangladesh, who finished sixth through ninth, will each receive $100,000.
