IWL 2023: IWL LIVE Streaming: With the Indian Women’s League set to kick off from the 26th of April, the clubs have expressed great dissent over arrangements of the tournament. With AIFF managing only last moment telecast facilities for only half of the games, their promises for the betterment of the Women’s football in India is being questioned. Speaking Exclusively to InsideSport.IN, three different club personnel from participating clubs voiced their complaints over the ‘ rushed’ IWL arrangements. ” The tournament feels a lot rushed. It is like they are doing it to just tick the boxes. Because everyone’s just like, let’s get it done and over with. We’ve just walked into this new season and none of the things look planned as stated by their vision. If you had come with a plan, you would have come up with a plan straight up, right? And you’d have started implementing it from day one. Instead, they took 100 days or more than 100 days to chart out a vision which does not seem to have been implemented”  stated one of the personnel traveling with the team exclusively.

IWL 2023 LIVE Streaming: Indian Football Team YouTube channel to stream Indian Women’s…

Many Indian football supporters have criticized the AIFF’s decision on Twitter and expressed their discontent with it. The organisation received criticism from more than just the fans; Odisha FC owner Rohan Sharma openly lambasted it for not prioritizing the Indian Women’s League matches enough.

IWL 2023 LIVE Streaming:

Just one day before the start of the Indian Women’s League 2023 season, the All India Football Federation stated on Tuesday that only the evening games of the season will be live broadcast on the Indian Football YouTube channel.

The group stage of the tournament will feature 56 games between the 16 competing teams, 28 of which are scheduled to start at 8:00 am and the rest at 4:30 pm. As a result, just 50 percent of the group stage games will be able to be live broadcast. Additionally, spectators will miss two quarterfinal matches on May 16 that were slated for the morning time slot. While some of the clubs claimed to have not recieved an official note of the same by then, they seemed to be very displeased.

“I was scrolling down on Twitter  and got to know that there will be no live streaming for the morning games. Most of our big games are in the morning. It is a shame that the girls who have waited for this throughout the year, ready to play in this heat do not get the proper exposure. ” they added.

“The clubs have done enough already this season believe with a lot of clubs who’s invested lots of money to make these things to put these things together. They’ve gone out of the way to make the arrangements. No telecasts? Well, how are we supposed to sell sponsorships? How are we supposed to generate revenue?”

“Funny thing is you go to AIFF and they’re like we should do this in a collaborative policy, you’re not doing anything collaboratively, you’re not asking the club’s anything. You’re just taking decisions and you’re thinking the clubs are gonna do whatever you tell them to. That is not how it can work. ”

IWL 2023  Match Timings:

At 8 AM and 4.30 PM, two stadiums in Ahmedabad—Transstadia and the Shahibaug Police Stadium—will host each game. The All India Football Federation revealed the league stage schedule on Monday, and the first day will include two games that start at the same time at 8 AM: Sports Odisha vs. HOPS FC at Shahibaug and Misaka United FC vs. Mata Rukmani at Transstadia.

The timings have been a matter of great concern for the clubs given the temaperature in Hyderabad. Voicing the concerns one of the owners of a participating club stated:

“Honestly we don’t know how the players are going to play because the climate is too hot. There the temperature is 40 degrees, so playing at 8.00AM in the morning and 4,30 in the evening is gonna be really tough on them. We don’t know  what is going to happen to play a game every three-four days in this heat. ” he said to InsideSport.IN

The same concern was also resonated by another team personnel who is staying at Ahmedabad with the team.

It’s so it’s so bright. By eight o’clock, it’s 40 degrees. And in the afternoon, it’s it’s even worse because your skin is burning. Can you imagine playing competitive football matches in this heat? It’s unreal that people are even allowing this. The official match would start at 4.30 pm . And that warm up would have started, you know, an hour before that training and getting to the pitch. So at three o’clock, you’re putting these girls up and under the sun to go and play football in this heat. ”

IWL 2023: Indian Women’s League clubs express CONCERN over ‘MINIMUM WAGE’ POLICY, AIFF…

However, one of the team owners revelead to us that they have had a conversation with AIFF over the issues, who expressed that with the international games and the closing of the window by May 31st they were facing difficulties.

” I told them about the problems. They are telling there are some difficulties because the league is happening and the windows closing by  May 31st. The Women’s League is opening up in a bigger way the next season. So this year they requested excuse the lack of earlier planning because the Indian team have gone for the foreign friendlies and all that. So the next year they could start by January and these issues wont be  arising hopefully. “

( Note: AIFF is yet to respond on the matter yet. )
