- Yuki Bhambri lost to Bernabe Zapata Miralles – 5-7, 1-6
- Ramkumar Ramanathan lost to Vit Kopriva – 5-7, 4-6
Yuki Bhambri played earlier on Tuesday and he got off to a flying start by getting an early break and leading the set 5-3. His opponent Miralle however miraculously comeback to break Bhambri immediately and from then on started showing his dominance as he never allowed the Indian to make a comeback. He went on to clinch the set 7-5. In the second set too the Spaniard was too good for the Indian as he dropped just a game to win the set 6-1 to qualify for the second round.
Meanwhile, Ramkumar Ramanathan and Vit Kopriva challenged each other pretty well as they dropped sets early in the game. Ramanthan maintained lead until 4-3 but Kopriva made a good comeback to break the Indian and take the lead with the score at 6-5. The 19th seed went on to win the next game to clinch the set 7-5.
In the second set Ramanathan yet again broke his opponent early to take 3-1 lead. But Kopriva yet again made a valiant comeback as he won five of the next six games to clinch a 7-5, 6-4 victory.
