Mayweather vs Jake Paul super fight
As he continues to enter exhibition bouts, Floyd Mayweather has been strongly linked to several return matches, including one against YouTube star Jake Paul, who has made numerous calls to secure a matchup. Due to the weight disparity between the two, Mayweather could only propose an exhibition bout with Jake Paul.
Logan, Paul’s brother, and Floyd Mayweather squared off in 2021, and Jake looked to steal the show at the press conference when he snatched the legend’s hat and started a fight. Before security could separate them, the retired professional hit the influencer, and Jake Paul quickly declared himself Mayweather’s greatest rival.
The former 50-0 champion has maintained that negotiations were indeed held about a fight, despite that nothing has happened since then. But Mayweather is unable to move up to 190 pounds. At the press conference held before his battle with Aaron Chalmers, Mayweather stated, “We spoke to Jake Paul earlier, and we can perform an exhibition because of the weight differential. I am unable to reach 190 pounds.”
Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor rematch
The retired boxer who defeated MMA star McGregor in a boxing battle in 2017 discussed facing him again in 2023. “Conor McGregor and I will face off in an exhibition match in 2023,” Mayweather told The Daily Mail.
“We are still determining if it will be a real fight or a display. But both have been discussed. I’d rather see an exhibit. I don’t like getting into confrontations where I might get hurt,” Mayweather continued.”
Conor McGregor, currently competing in the TUF 31 and making his UFC comeback, has stated that he intends to return to boxing after his UFC comeback.
In a May interview with Sky Sports, McGregor stated: “My favorite combat sport is boxing. The last time I was there, it was such a blast. My return will undoubtedly be in the octagon for UFC, but that story is far from over; it is only beginning. However, I will return to the squared circle in the future to box.”
Floyd Mayweather complete retirement?
Despite his retirement from professional boxing, Floyd Mayweather still participates in exhibition fights and will continue doing that. After defeating Conor McGregor by knockout in 2017, “Money” declared his retirement from professional boxing. Mayweather announced his retirement for the second time; the first was in 2007 following a tight victory over Oscar De La Hoya.
An exhibition battle is more about entertaining the crowd than getting the best possible result. There are typically fewer rounds and more oversized gloves worn by the boxers. Sometimes a battle has a predetermined outcome, as his most recent draw with Aaron Chalmers.
