- Only a couple of players have won the Australian Open and US Open women’s singles titles in the same year since Arthur Ashe Stadium opened in 1997. The German is heading into the contest after winning the Cincinnati Masters ATP title. The World No.4 is yet to lose a single match in the last 10 matches, including four sets win over Djokovic in Olympics. He has a win-loss ratio of 14:5 in 2021 hardcourt events. Last year, he had made it to the finals of the US Open before losing to Dominic Thiem who has pulled out of the tournament due to an injury. He will begin his US Open campaign against Sam Querrey of the US at Arthur Ashe Stadium on August 31.
