Previously, Geoff Neal has also pulled out of the card and has been replaced by Neil Magny to face Irish fighter Ian Garry. Now, former bantamweight champion Garbrandt has suffered a similar ill fate.

Following two losses in 2020, Cody Garbrandt remained out of action for the entire 2022. He returned to the cage at UFC 285 and scored a unanimous win against Trevin Jones. 2-5 in his last 7 outings, Garbrandt was seemingly hoping to build on his win against Trevin Jones by outclassing Bautista this week.

That said, it’s uncertain whether we will see ‘No Love’ in action this year or have to wait till 2024. The bantamweight division is fast-paced and has several top-tier contenders to have a shot at the title. So, Garbrandt’s inactivity would cost him a lot in the ongoing scenario.

Cody Garbrandt was the undefeated UFC champion a few years ago. His loss against TJ Dillashaw turned out to be menacing as ‘No Love’ went on a losing spree after that.

Following his first loss against Dillashaw, Garbrandt suffered two more losses consecutively against Dillashaw in a rematch, and then Pedro Munhoz. He returned to the win-track by knocking out Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250 but lost the next two fights against Rob Font and Kai-Kara France before winning against Trevin Jones.
