On November 11, the heavyweight champion of the UFC, Jon Jones, will battle Miocic in the main event of UFC 295. After losing the title to Francis Ngannou in their UFC 260 title rematch, he will fight again at Madison Square Garden.
Despite being nearly universally regarded as the greatest heavyweight in UFC history, Miocic is open to taking part in at least one more cage match. He’s returning to face Jones, who many consider to be the greatest UFC fighter of all time, in what will likely be his biggest test yet.

UFC 295: Stipe Miocic vs. Jon Jones The Greatest UFC Clash
Before making his eagerly awaited comeback to the Octagon, former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is unconcerned with his legacy. Miocic is totally focused on competitiveness as he intensifies his training for UFC 295 and isn’t thinking about the dangers involved in coming back to face a fighter of the calibre of Jones.
Miocic recently discussed his decision to fight at UFC 295 in an interview with MMA Junkie.
“There’s a lot of reasons why,” Miocic said. “I want to fight the best, and I’m a competitor. I love fighting, I love to compete…my last fight didn’t go as well as I planned it to, and now is a time to bounce back and get that win.”
Prior to his defeat by Ngannou, Miocic had won each of their three meetings with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier. Ngannou left the UFC after making a successful title defence against Ciryl Gane, which allowed Jones to take the vacant title at UFC 285 instead.
In the history of the UFC heavyweight championship, Miocic owns the record for the most finishes, knockouts, and consecutive title defences. At UFC 198 in Brazil, he delivered a single punch to knock out Fabrcio Werdum to start his first reign.
Miocic is most certainly going to one day join Cormier and other legendary heavyweights in the UFC Hall of Fame. But for the time being, he is concentrated on extending his remarkable reign inside the Octagon.
