In the present format, there are four weight divisions for female competitors and eight divisions for male fighters in the UFC. Every division has a UFC champion, and once they take the belt, they have to compete to keep it. Women compete exclusively in the Strawweight class; more recently, they have also entered the Bantamweight, Flyweight, and Featherweight divisions. Men compete in all eight other divisions instead of the strawweight class.
