Izzy took to a Q&A session on Instagram and answered many queries. When asked about his chances of fighting at home, the UFC champion revealed of not wanting to fight in New Zealand ever.
Israel Adesanya wrote, “Still never fighting in NZ. My next fight will be in Sydney. Millions and millions and millions and millions of dollars that they can have….”
Adesanya, the 2X UFC middleweight champion, has all the top 5 185-pounders in the current rankings. Now that Alex Pereira has decided to quit the middleweight division for the light heavyweight category, Izzy shall rematch any of his former opponents.
Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will face Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 in July. The winner of the fight scan get a title shot against Adesanya. While Izzy has already vanquished Robert Whittaker twice, it remains to be seen whether we can get a trilogy or Dricus Du Plessis crashes the party.
UFC: When can Israel Adesanya Return?
Israel Adesanya avenged his previous losses against Alex Pereira in style and seemed excited to fight again shortly. Per UFC President Dana White, Izzy ‘blew up’ the administrators’ cell phones just to get his next fight date after UFC 287.
This assures that Israel Adesanya can make his comeback soon and shall compete for one more time at least in 2023. The current middleweight category is full of A-listed contenders, where Adesanya wouldn’t see a deficit of challenges.
