Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion, gave us a brief update on his return to the Octagon last Friday. The ‘Notorious’ McGregor shared a video of himself sparring on Instagram, but it wasn’t the post’s main focus. He indicated in passing in the caption that he had sent in the necessary papers to rejoin the USADA testing pool. After breaking his leg in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier, McGregor has been absent for more than two years.
Dana White, the CEO of the UFC, provided some insight into what will happen to one of his stars going forward as Conor McGregor’s comeback gains momentum. White reiterated that McGregor has not yet commenced testing despite submitting the paperwork to USADA.

Dana White’s Response To Conor McGregor’s Return
Conor McGregor is prepared to join the UFC’s anti-doping programme once again, which should pave the road for his eventual comeback to the octagon.
Following a workout, the former two-division champion shared a brief update on Instagram, stating that he had submitted paperwork to UFC Senior Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky, who is in charge of the organization’s anti-doping programme. This is likely the next step in the process of rejoining the testing pool run by the US Anti-Doping Agency.
“Find my targets. Hit them. F*** the consequences,” McGregor wrote. “You’re going down. This is fighting. Sparring day with slick Nikolay Grozdev. Always a banger of a spar with the slick fella.
“Submitted my stuff to [Jeff] Novitzky. Ball rolling. See you soon you little light work b****.”
Before being allowed to compete once more, fighters who have left the testing pool must go through six months of testing. While he was rehabilitating from a broken leg sustained in his final fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021, McGregor left the UFC’s anti-doping programme.
According to UFC CEO Dana White, Conor McGregor’s comeback to the UFC will have to wait a little bit longer.
After UFC Vegas 80 ended on Saturday night, White responded to McGregor’s most recent remarks in which he hinted at returning to the USADA testing pool.
However, there is a little bit more to it than that. The former two-division world champion, who last raised his hand in a fight in January 2020 against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, simply cannot make a comeback in 2023.
According to USADA rules, McGregor would have to wait six months before competing again, which would allow him to compete in the UFC’s mega 300th pay-per-view. However, an exemption might be granted.
