UFC President Dana White revealed a potential timeline of when Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler can actually happen

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler doesn’t look likely to happen at UFC 296. Despite McGregor’s verbal assurance, Dana White has provided a potential timeline for the fight that doesn’t cite to be UFC 296.

In a recent chat with Crain and Company, Dana White addressed several issues, including Conor McGregor’s return against ‘Iron’ Chandler.

The UFC President said, “We’re working on it [Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler]. Yeah, I mean obviously we’re running the whole season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and to not do that fight would be ridiculous. I’m hoping we can do it early next year.”

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have also begun feuding on social media since the TUF 31 season has come to an end.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler squared off against each other as coaches in the recently aired The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. Team McGregor’s Brad Katona became a TUF double champ and walked out with honors alongside Kurt Holobaugh.

Now that the coaches are done with the season, they should get alligned to lock horns inside the UFC cage.

That said, Dana White can plan to welcome UFC with a PPV between McGregor and Chandler after a brief hiatus for the christmas and new year week.

Following the end of UFC 292, the next PPV- UFC 293 will be headlined by Israel Adesanya vs Sean Strickland on September 6.  UFC 294 Islam Makhachev vs Charles Oliveira 2 will be on October 21.

Then Jon Jones will defend his heavyweight strap against former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 on November 11. As of now, UFC 296 doesn’t have a headliner.

Upon mis planting his foot, Conor McGregor broke his ankle in half and lost the bout via doctor stoppage. His last UFC win came against Donald Cerrone via TKO at UFC 246. More than 3.5 years since his last win, McGregor will now return against former Bellator champion Chandler.
