Fans voted their choice while showing concern that both fighters may not make it up to the required weight category

Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira’s rematch for the lightweight championship will serve as the main event of the card. Ikram Aliskerov had been Costa’s opponent at UFC 291; however, Costa withdrew from that match to take on Chimaev.

Fans Fear Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev Will Miss Weight at UFC 294

The impending bout at UFC 294 is the subject of numerous rumours, and fans now only have access to the fight cards. Chael Sonnen is aware that “Borz” has struggled to maintain weight. The inaccurate weigh-in shattered fans’ hopes when Khamzat Chimaev was scheduled to face Nate Diaz at UFC 279 in the past.

Paulo Costa once failed to make weight for the Marvin Vettori fight, just as Chimaev. For it, the Brazilian fighter received a lot of flak.

Fans voted their choice while showing concern that both fighters may not make it up to the required weight category, as they reacted:

Chimaev (12-0) hasn’t competed since being submitted by Kevin Holland in the opening round of UFC 279 in September. Prior to what would have been a matchup with Nate Diaz on that card, he failed to make weight, and Holland was brought in as a replacement. With five finishes, the fighter from Chechnya is 6-0 in the UFC. The UFC current record for the quickest three-fight victory streak (66 days) belongs to 29-year-old Chimaev.

At UFC 278 in August 2022, Costa (14-2) defeated Luke Rockhold by unanimous decision. With his victory, the Brazilian boxer ended a two-fight losing streak. The only losses for Costa, 32, came in a title battle against Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori. Costa has won six of his eight UFC fights.
