During the fight, both fighters exchanged powerful punches and kicks. However, it appears that Gilbert Burns may have injured his left arm as a result of the intense exchanges.

At the beginning of round 2, Burns started with a low kick followed by a body kick, but the latter hit Muhammad in the groin area. Despite the accidental strike, both fighters expressed their desire to continue the fight. Muhammad responded with a 1-2 punch combination, while Burns landed a right punch. Muhammad then landed a left punch and a high kick, while Burns followed up with a jab.

Burns started with a low kick and quickly followed up with a right punch. He landed another right punch shortly after. Muhammad responded with a body kick and a hard knee as Burns attempted a takedown, but Muhammad managed to stuff it. Muhammad then landed some body kicks, while Burns responded with a low kick. The first round ended with both fighters exchanging strikes.

During the fight, Yan Xiaonan faced off against Jessica Andrade in the strawweight division. At the beginning of the fight, Evloev started with a low kick, and Lopes responded with a right punch and a low kick of his own. Evloev countered with hooks and attempted a takedown. However, he got caught hard on the counter when he waded in too wildly. Both fighters continued to exchange wild strikes. Evloev managed to take Lopes down with an ankle pick. In the end, Evloev won the fight with a score of 30-26, but Lopes put up an impressive fight.

Kron Gracie and Jourdain were the first fighters to kick off the main card of UFC 288. The fight was intense, with both fighters giving it their all. However, in the end, Jourdain emerged as the winner with a unanimous decision from the judges.

During the UFC 288 lightweight fight, Dober faced off against Matt Frevola. Frevola managed to defeat Dober by TKO through a combination of swinging and exchanging blows, with the fight ending at 4 minutes and 8 seconds into the first round.
