Jon Jones is most infamous for it as eye pokes also occur unintentionally at times. Nevertheless, UFC has found a way to throw out the illegal move. During UFC 287 Countdown, Gilbert Burns revealed how the new UFC gloves will resist fighters from eye-poking.

Revealing the gloves to the audience, Burns explained, “I love it because people don’t see, but it kind of makes your fingers go down, so less eye pokes.”

“So, I like it, see my hands are relaxed, [the fingers] don’t stay here. Way better for no eye poke. I like these new gloves.”

Gilbert Burns will co-headline the event against Jorge Masvidal in Miami, a fight that shall determine the next challenger to Leon Edwards’ welterweight title. That said, ‘Durinho’ has a lot on the line next. Akin to the co-main event, Israel Adesanya has a lot to prove on the night against Alex Pereira.
