Leon Edwards vs Nate Diaz UFC 263: The rise of Leon Edwards to the top of the welterweight division has his footprint on all the behemoths of the division.
Including the Stockholm slapper Nate Diaz. UFC 263 witnessed a five-round war between Rocky and Diaz. The last round was thrilled with Edwards getting precisely punched by Nate Diaz.
However, Leon Edwards managed to win via a unanimous decision victory.
In his recent podcast, he shares his UFC 263 experience.
“24 minutes of schooling him. It was so easy I got bored whilst I was fighting him. Otherwise, let’s say if it was first or second round, it never would have landed. The reason why it didn’t land is because I was alert and sharp. I thought ‘okay, this fight’s kinda easy, it’s last minute’ but then he caught that shot. It’s something I’m working on now with my coaches, to stay sharp all the way through.”‘
“Yeah, that was mentioned to me as well, that they were trying to change the O2 (Arena) to a pay-per-view. But to do that you’d need to have it at four in the morning. I did it before when I fought in Manchester. Bisping was defending his belt. It was four or five in the morning, the card was.”

The Number one pound-to-pound fighter, Kamaru Usman, was out of the octagon for a while and waiting for his return, but his injury has been blocking him for a long period.
Finlay, The Nightmare is back on UFC 278 to fight his title against Leon Edwards.
Edwards, meanwhile, has also gone unbeaten since that first meeting in 2015 with a 9-0-1 mark. He returned from a lengthy layoff in March 2021 but delivered an accidental eye poke against Belal Muhammad that left his opponent unable to continue. Edwards returned in June 2021 to outpoint Nate Diaz in a fight that he controlled until the final round where Diaz badly hurt Edwards with a right hand.
