Leon Edwards vs Jorge Masvidal: Both the fighter already has their famous backstage beef name as ‘three-piece and a soda’.

The ongoing battery trial on Masvidal in the incident Colby Covington incident had kept him out of the octagon. Colby Covington ranks as the no1 contender in the welterweight division.

A fight with any top contender in the welterweight division would fetch a quick climb for Masvidal. He previously challenged the pound-to-pound number one fighter, Kamaru Usman, and suffered a critical loss.

The street Jesus, looking for a quick climb, is open to fighting any top contenders.

Jorge Masvidal said, “That’s another intangible thing. Am I gonna say no to fighting for the title? Like, hell no,” Masvidal, who sucker-punched Edwards backstage at London’s O2 Arena in 2019, said . “I’ll get my ass in shape and get ready for this f*ckin’ hooligan, and give it all I’ve got to break his face… It’s a lot of tangibles, a lot of things that could happen. I could be getting myself ready for number 10 of the world and all of a sudden fighting for a world championship.”

“Remember, I’m Jorge Masvidal,” he added. “I’m the same guy who took that world championship fight on six days’ notice in the middle of the corona pandemic, flew all the way across the world to throw down in that fight,” added Masvidal. “I’m gonna go with the best option all the time.”

Edwards, meanwhile, has also gone unbeaten since that first meeting in 2015 with a 9-0-1 mark. He returned from a lengthy layoff in March 2021 but delivered an accidental eye poke against Belal Muhammad that left his opponent unable to continue. Edwards returned in June 2021 to outpoint Nate Diaz in a fight that he controlled until the final round, where Diaz badly hurt Edwards with a right hand.

His opponent reigning welterweight champion has been at the top of the food chain. Kamaru Usman receives regular call-outs from all other exceptional UFC fighters.

He had previously knocked out Masvidal with a stunning right hand.

With a stunning record of straight 21 wins, he stands undefeated in UFC. He earned his name The Nigerian Nightmare due to his dominant win and giving nightmares to his opponents.
