Sean O’Malley Trolled For Calling Out Gervonta Davis After UFC 292- ‘Slow Down’

Sean O’Malley Calls Out Gervonta Davis After Knocking Out Aljamain Sterling
After UFC 292 title win, bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley called out Gervonta Davis

Sean O’Malley and Gervonta Davis are both 28 years old and are currently world champions in their respective sports.

28-year-old O’Malley became the youngest active UFC champion by knocking the bantamweight title out of Aljamain Sterling at the main event of UFC 292. He desired to avenge the only career defeat against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera in his first title defense in December at the T-Mobile Arena.

Meanwhile, Sean O’Malley seemed hesitant to glorify Marlon Vera with the title opportunity, who also won at UFC 292 against Pedro Munhoz. On the contrary, ‘Sugar’ called out Gervonta Davis after dissing ‘Chito’ Vera in the post-fight presser.

Sean O’Malley said, “Yeah I thought you know we will shoot a promo but we will see. It’s just the way he [Marlon Vera] acts, he is so annoying, just like he is not funny and he tries to be. He is so ugly, dresses like an idiot. It’s like, ‘God, do I really need to give this guy [‘Chito’ Vera] an opportunity.”

“But then well priced, got to whoop his a**, make a lot of money. So, I could. So yeah, that could be it. Also, I wouldn’t mind knocking out Gervonta Davis and I know people are going to be ‘Oh, you wannabe Conor’. I am telling you that fight is gonna happen.”

MMA Twitter didn’t seem very impressed with Sean O’Malley’s claims. Here’s how they reacted.

Gervonta Davis, 29-0, is a three-weight boxing world champion and one of the most entertaining knockout punchers of the era.  He has shown no interest in facing MMA fighters so far. It remains to bee seen whether Sen O’Malley goes into the boxing world somewhere down the line.

Sean O’Malley Wanted To Fight Gervonta Davis Back in 2018?

On his first appearance at a UFC PPV in March 2018, O’Malley beat Andre Soukhamthath via unanimous decision. Far from the title back then, ‘Sugar’ put out a tweet to call out Gervonta Davis.

He wrote, “3-4 years, I will be busting up Gervonta Davis in a super fight.”.

O’Malley tagged UFC and Dana White in the post. Now that he is a champion, ‘Sugar’ hasn’t forgotten about his wish of fighting ‘Tank’ Davis.
