Nate Diaz did just that recently when he tweeted about wanting to retire on July 30th. Interestingly, the UFC is set to have it’s pay-per-view event UFC 277 on the same day. He took to twitter suggesting that July 30th would be a “nice” date to depart from the UFC, saying:

“July 30th. Would be a nice to departure date”

It is worth noting that Nate Diaz hasn’t fought since suffering a decision loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 263 back in June 2021. While he has been calling for a fight since last year, he is yet to sign an agreement yet. As a result of which, he decided to urge for a fight on July 30th at UFC 277.

The UFC 277 is set to take place in Dallas, Texas and will be headlined by a rematch between Julianna Pena and Amada Nunes for the women’s UFC Bantamweight title. Moreover, it will also host an interim Flyweight title fight between Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France.

While the UFC 277 event already has 13 fights in store, adding Nate Diaz would make it much better. However, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up as there are only 20 odd days left for the event and it is extremely unlikely that Diaz will have the opportunity to fight on the card.

It remains to be seen as to when Nate Diaz will finally have the opportunity to get done with his last fight inside the octagon. Moreover, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead of his UFC career. Whether it is transitioning into boxing or any other MMA promotion, he will certainly have his fans support wherever he goes.
