Of course, Adesanya’s next opponent has not yet been confirmed, and there are other top middleweight contenders who could also be in the mix for a title shot. Robert Whittaker, is set to face Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 next weekend, and a convincing win for either fighter could put them in line for a rematch with Adesanya.

Regardless of who gets the next shot at Adesanya, it’s clear that Sean Strickland is ready to step up and prove himself against the best in the world. Whether he gets his wish and faces Adesanya himself remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Strickland is a fighter to watch in the middleweight division.
