Paulo Costa is under the scanner yet again. The Brazilian fighter is one of the most outspoken personalities in the UFC. However, he often comes under criticism for the things he says and does. Michael Bisping questions Paulo Costa for UFC 294 withdrawal

Speaking on his podcast with Paul Felder, Bisping addressed Costa’s behavior. He said, “He’s out of his mind. I’m a fan of Costa, I love what he brings to the table. I was excited for his fight with Chimaev, you know they’ve been going back and forth, sending each other DM’s and stuff like that and Khamzat was in the DM’s of his wife but look at all these cancelled bouts.”

Bisping then added, “Ikram, Khamzat, Rockhold, Cannonier, Robert Whittaker. Do you know what I mean? There’s more down there. He’s a bit of a… well, he’s a bit of a madman isn’t he?” Therefore, clearly, the former champion is not impressed with the Brazilian.

Paulo Costa last fought in 2022 against Luke Rockhold. However, even that took two attempts. Prior to that, he took on Marvin Vettori and missed weight by a huge margin. Then, against Robert Whittaker, Costa pulled out at the last minute claiming he wanted more money.

This behavior will undoubtedly attract criticism from people like Bisping. The former champion competed despite not having an eye while Costa talks on social media only to pull out of fights. If the Brazilian keeps doing this, it would not be a surprise if he finds himself fighting lesser competition.

What do you make of these comments about Paulo Costa from Michael Bisping? Do you think he’s right about the Brazilian being a madman?
