Sterling comes into the bout on the back of an eight-fight win streak, including two impressive title defenses. Cejudo, on the other hand, has not fought in three years. However, prior to retiring, Cejudo won six straight fights. Therefore, both fighters have a streak to protect.

In terms of physical attributes, Sterling stands at 5’7”, has a 71” punching reach and a 39” leg reach. Cejudo, on the other hand, stands at 5’4”, has a 64” punching reach and a 37” leg reach. Therefore, Sterling has advantages in the physical aspects.

However, the former champion gets more takedowns and at a better accuracy than Sterling. Despite this, Sterling has more submissions and Cejudo has more knockouts. Thus, the numbers show how close a fight it really is.
