Derrick Lewis denies recent arrest reports

Reports emerged that the authorities arrested Derrick Lewis on October 25. According to the police ticket, Lewis was speeding over 136 mph in a 50 mph zone. And ‘The Black Beast’ had to pay a $100 personal recognizance bond for his release. He will have his court date on December 27.

However, speaking to the media ahead of UFC Sao Paulo, Lewis addressed the reports. He said, “Nah, I don’t even think that was me. Nah, that guy had hair. You seen the picture? I ain’t got no hair. That ain’t me. I don’t know.”

While these comments make it look like Lewis is denying his arrest, if you watch the video, it is clear that he was being sarcastic. Moreover, the pictures he refers to are not out to the public. Thus, we can not confirm if the man in the pictures had hair or not.

The police report matches Derrick Lewis in every way possible. His date of birth is the same, the physical description is the same, and the fact that it happened in Houston means it was definitely Derrick Lewis. The UFC heavyweight is probably just avoiding answering any questions regarding it and therefore resorting to denying the rumors.

So there you have it. Derrick Lewis is once again using his humor to get himself out of an awkward question. What do you make of his comments? Do you think there are fans who will fall for his tricks?
