Merab Dvalishvili is the number two ranked UFC bantamweight. Despite this, it is unlikely that he will fight for O’Malley’s title next. Therefore, the Georgian has his sights on Henry Cejudo, in what promises to be an incredible fight between two hard-working fighters.

Reports have suggested a potential fight between Merab Dvalishvili and Henry Cejudo is already in the works. Moreover, the bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley also showed his excitement for the fight. And now, it appears as though the Georgian is also looking forward to taking on the former UFC double champion.

The 32-year-old posted a video on X after a workout and claimed the ‘Skinny tall dude [Sean O’Malley] is hiding from him. Dvalishvili then said, “Let’s go! I’m coming. Henry, I’m coming for you. Let’s go.” He then added, “Let’s see whose wrestling is better.” Both fighters are equally adept on the ground and on their feet. However, they both are primarily wrestlers. Therefore, it would be an extremely high-level wrestling contest.

Dvalishvili then explained why he wants to take on Cejudo despite his respect for him. He said, “Hey, I respect you, but I’m going to punch you hard. And I’m looking forward to fighting you. I’m hungry. I come from Georgian mountains and my only goal is [to] fight for the title. And whoever is in front of me, I’m going to destroy. I’m going to kill everybody. Let’s go Henry. I can’t wait to fight you.”

This would be an incredible fight. And if we go by the reports, we could see the two facing each other as early as January 2024. However, as we have seen in the past, nothing is final until they meet in the octagon.

What do you make of Merab Dvalishvili’s call out? Do you think we will see Merab Dvalishvili vs Henry Cejudo face each other in 2024?
