Ronda Rousey made more than Brock Lesnar in the UFC

Bloody Elbow examined the unsealed documents submitted as evidence against the UFC. This document contained important information regarding purses paid to fighters between 2011-2016. As a result, we now have information regarding the purses of the likes of Conor McGregor, Georges St-Pierre, and others.

According to the document, Ronda Rousey made $574,720 against Liz Carmouche, $1,817,907 against Miesha Tate, $870,969 against Sara McMann, $1,063,688 against Alexis Davis, $1,458,282 against Cat Zingano, $2,642,204 against Bethe Correia, $4,476,662 or $4,536,932 against Holly Holm, and $4,879,766 against Amanda Nunes. This totals to over $13.7 million between 2013 and 2016.

Brock Lesar, on the other hand, earned close to $11 million between 2011-2016. He took home $8 million for the fight against Mark Hunt in 2011 and $3 million for the Alistair Overeem fight in 2016. These are enormous numbers for those times.

Thus, while Lesnar earned the bigger purses, Rousey’s activity meant that she in fact earned more than Brock Lesnar between 2011 to 2016. But we have to mention that Lesnar fought only two fights during this period. And if he had fought more, he would’ve definitely earned more.

So there you have it. Female superstar Ronda Rousey did, in fact, earn more than Brock Lesnar. What do you make of these figures? Do you think Brock Lesnar was worth more?
