Ronda Rousey Reportedly Returning To UFC

Rumors of Ronda Rousey’s return to the UFC have been debunked by recent reports, as the former UFC and WWE superstar has no plans to return to the octagon. Rousey lost her WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship title after her tag partner Baszler turned on her at Money in the Bank, sparking speculation that Rousey may be considering a return to UFC, but MMA reporter Ariel Helwani confirmed that the rumors are unfounded.

While some MMA fans may be disappointed by the news, they can still look forward to seeing Rousey in the WWE and potentially in other entertainment ventures. Rousey’s versatility and talent as a performer are sure to attract significant interest among fans, regardless of whether she returns to the UFC or not.

NBA’s Jamah Murray To Jon Jones

Jamal Murray, the NBA star, won the Best Comeback Athlete award at the 2023 ESPYs, surpassing UFC legend Jon Jones and other nominees. Murray’s return to the court following an 18-month absence due to an ACL tear earned him the prestigious award.

Murray acknowledged Jones during his acceptance speech and offered to share the award with him. he said “My man Jon Jones, I was actually there to watch you win this comeback 3 years off,” he said. Murray even offered to share the award with Jones, but not without a joking caveat: “Just don’t choke me out.”

UFC Vegas 77

On July 15, 2023, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will host an event at their APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will feature a main event between women’s bantamweight contender Holly Holm, ranked No. 3, and Brazilian submission specialist Mayra Bueno Silva, ranked No. 10.

Additionally, the co-main event will showcase middleweight hopefuls Albert Duraev and Junyong Park, competing for a spot in the rankings. Lastly, Jack Della Maddalena will compete on short notice to try and save the show.

Jorge Masvidal on vacant BMF Title

Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will compete for the vacant “BMF” (Baddest Mother F***) title later this month in the main event of UFC 291. The belt, while more symbolic than anything, was vacated by Jorge Masvidal following his retirement from MMA after losing to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287.

In response to the UFC’s decision to bring the belt back for this upcoming fight, Masvidal expressed his excitement and support for the decision. He said “I love it,” Masvidal said on The MMA Hour. “Keep it alive. They picked the right fighters to do it, that are going to f****** give their life.” you can watch the full conversation below.
