Holloway comes into this weekend’s bout on the back of a defeat to Alexander Volkanovski. The former champion will be eager to put his record straight and get another win under his belt. Max Holloway losses: Who has the Hawaiian lost to in the UFC?
Holloway has a 23-7 record in MMA and an unbeaten record before his time in the UFC. However, this changed when Holloway made his UFC debut in 2012. The Hawaiian took on Dustin Poirier and lost via a first-round Triangle Armbar.
Holloway’s second loss in the UFC came against Dennis Bermudez in 2013 and then he lost his third fight immediately after that to UFC superstar Conor McGregor. The former by a split decision, while the latter by a unanimous decision.
After the loss to McGregor, Holloway went on a 13-fight win streak on his way to the UFC featherweight title. However, Dustin Poirier halted his run again, beating him by a unanimous decision in 2019 when the two fought for the interim lightweight championship.
Holloway’s last three losses are probably his three most famous losses. All three have come at the hands of the current undisputed UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. The first and second were dubious decision defeats, while Volkanovski showed his class in the trilogy and handed Holloway his seventh loss in the UFC.
