Alex Pereira and his unique record of ending UFC streaks

An account on X pointed out that Pereira has a special record of bringing long UFC unbeaten or win streaks to an end. In his second fight in the UFC, Pereira beat Bruno Silva. Silva had a seven-fight win streak and was 3-0 in the UFC prior to the loss vs Pereira.

The light-heavyweight champion then took on Sean Strickland to earn a title shot. And Strickland entered that fight on a 6-0 winning streak in the middleweight division. However, Pereira made light work of the American too.

Pereira then faced his arch-nemesis, Israel Adesanya, for the belt. And Adesanya had put together an incredible 22-0 record in the middleweight division. His only loss came against Jan Blachowicz in the light-heavyweight division. However, Pereira knocked out Adesanya to end his streak.

And last weekend, Pereira did the same for Jiri Prochazka. The Czech fighter was 3-0 in the UFC. However, he had a 13-fight winning streak, including fights out of the UFC. Moreover. His last knockout defeat came over ten years ago. Despite this, Pereira not only beat Prochazka, but he also inflicted his first knockout defeat in over ten years.

So there you have it. This is how Pereira has become a destroyer of UFC streaks. What do you make of this pattern from the Brazilian? Whose winning streak do you think he will end in his next fight?
