With Rashad Evans calling Mike Tyson his hero, fans cannot forget that the boxing legend is also an inspiration to Khabib Nurmagomedov. ‘The Eagle’ revealed it when he went to Tyson’s HotBoxin podcast. Khabib named Muhammad Ali (boxer), Ronaldo Nazario (footballer), and Mike Tyson (boxer) as his athletic heroes.
However, Khabib Nurmagomedov later denounced how Mike Tyson appeared in the podcast. Comparing the heavyweight stalwart with football star Cristiano Ronaldo, Khabib said, “No, he didn’t look through me. Overall, I didn’t like the way he looked…We were at his ranch where he hosts his podcasts. I asked him that there’d be no smoking around me but I wasn’t a fan. I liked how Cristiano Ronaldo looked more. He looked like an athlete.”
Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Mike Tyson are now retired pro-fighters. While several fans want to see Khabib return, the Dagestani fighter hasn’t shown any such plans. That said, Khabib Nurmagomedov is s till relevant in the combat world as a coach with several of his prodigies like Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov dominating the MMA community.
