Know In Details About The 2nd Richest UFC Star

On November 12, 1993, Royce Gracie stunned everyone by winning the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championship.

But the history of UFC dates back more than two decades.

The Helio, Carlos, and Carlson fights had helped the Gracie family develop a respectable history in Brazil. Rorion Gracie made the decision to emigrate to the United States since it was time to broaden their skills to a different market.

Rorion is still one of only a select few people on earth who is a 9th-degree Red BJJ belt holder. Rorion began working in the entertainment industry to promote BJJ as a desirable martial art in Hollywood. He trained Mel Gibson at this time and joined the Lethal Weapon production crew as a technical advisor.

In order to determine which style of martial arts is the most competitive, the concept of an MMA competition was born in the US. For the first UFC event, Davie and Gracie asked martial artists from various backgrounds to compete.

Rorion invited Royce, his younger brother, to take part in the activity. Comparatively speaking to his brothers, Royce was a little guy. Rorion desired that Royce demonstrate the superiority of their father’s martial arts system. Royce went on to win the UFC 1 competition rather easily and popularised BJJ. The foundation for the development of MMA and the UFC was an idea developed by Davie and the motives of Rorion.
