Khabib Nurmagomedov Expresses Displeasure Over Islam Makhachev’s Critique Before UFC 294
Khabib Nurmagomedov strongly countered Bobby Green’s drug use accusations, responding with intense remarks. Green made these claims against Russian MMA fighters Khabib and Islam during a recent episode of the Jaxxon Podcast with Quinton Jackson.
Bobby Green stated, “Khabib and Islam, they go to a mosque, you know? They train at some place where you can’t go to, USADA can’t come in here. For months, they can do whatever they wanna do. Actually, Islam got caught for drugs, you know what I mean when he first came. But he was like ‘Oh, I didn’t know. This is all the stuff that Russia was giving us as we were kids’.”
On Instagram Stories, ‘The Eagle’ swiftly responded to Green, highlighting that he and Makhachev have undergone nearly 50 doping tests, countering the accusations made against them.
Khabib stated, “There is nothing wrong with giving credit to a champion, and it doesn’t matter whether you like him or not. But not everyone can do this, and for this, you need brains and preferably not made of straw. Islam has passed a doping test 49 times in 5 years. Soon, Islam will have 50 tests. Someone, pass this on to Bobby: what Islam did to him was pure technique, honed over many years.”
Makhachev is preparing for a highly anticipated lightweight championship rematch against Charles Oliveira, set as the main event on October 21 at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena. Khabib, also known as ‘The Eagle,’ will be actively involved in his close friend and teammate Islam Makhachev’s training camp as Makhachev readies himself for the title bout at UFC 294.
