Khabib Nurmagomedov returns to AKA Gym (American Kickboxing) on Saturday. The former UFC lightweight champion recently trained inside the AKA Gym with his fellow teammates ahead of Islam Makhachev’s title. Although Makhachev wasn’t seen in the pictures, Khabib’s return to the AKA gym hints he would be training with the current lightweight champion who trains here.

The AKA Gym in America is well-known for many fighters who rose to glory in the UFC. Daniel Cormier, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, and Belal Muhammad are some of the fighters on the list.
‘The Eagle’ trained in the same gym for his training camp with his fellow teammates. Now, despite being retired, he often trains in the gym. Many fans often watched the UFC Hall of Famer train with now UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhacehv. Being their head coach, Nurmagomedov assures his Dagestani team gets the proper training.

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov return at UFC 294 at Islam Makhachev’s corner?
After being absent at UFC 284, fans doubted if Khabib Nurmagomedov would side with Islam Makhachev’s corner. However, it should be noted that the two individuals shared a strong bond, and Khabib is likely to be present at Islam’s second fight, opposite Charles Oliveira. The UFC Hall of Famer is seen in Islam’s corner, guiding him during his fight.
Last year, then-champion Charles Oliveira defended his title against Islam Makhachev in a big fight. Since the start of the bout, Khabib continued to instruct his fellow teammate to counter Oliveira, who clinched the victory in the second round via submission.
