Khabib Nurmagomedov Celebrates and Claims Islam Mamedov’s Retirement with Joyful Video

Khabib Nurmagomedov in an instagram video shared a news that Islam Mamedov will be retiring from the fight industry.

Javier Mendez’s pupil Islam Mamedov might opt for retirement soon. Khabib Numagomedov was seen along with Islam celebrating his boy’s retirement with a calory and sugar-induced meal.  Islam Mamedov is a Russian MMA fighter from Dagestan, who has been trained to be a professional MMA fighter by Javier Menez to fight in the Bellator.

Islam Mamedov has a Pro MMA Record of 23-3-1( Win-Loss-Draw) Bellator MMA had signed Islam Mamedov, a teammate of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. He had competed in the PFL (Professional Fighters League) and the World Series of Fighting (WSOF).

What Is The Next Step For Islam Mamedov?

Islam Mamedov has a record of 18-0 since his most recent defeat, which occurred against Alexander Sarnavskiy in 2009. At UAE Warriors 14, Mamedov faced Armenian boxer Martun Mezhlumyan in his final bout. In the third round of the catchweight (161-lbs) bout, Mamedov won via submission.

Khabib Nurmagomedov had to undergo difficult weight loss in order to meet the 155-pound UFC limit. Islam Mamedov, his teammate, has also had difficulty stepping on the scale at 155 pounds.

The recent news though not confirmed as of now, might come as a shock to the MMA fans who wanted Islam Mamedov to be in the Bellator and PFL for a longer time, but his senior Khabib Nurmagomedov made his retirement announcement in a similar way. Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the fight industry with a perfect record of 28-0.

Despite efforts to arrange Nurmagomedov’s comeback for a single, farewell match, UFC President Dana White said on March 19, 2021, that he had accepted the fighter’s decision to retire and that the UFC Lightweight Championship had been officially vacated.

Mamedov fought his last fight on November 17, 2023, against Killy Mota, that he won by split decision. And it might have been the last fight of his career as Khabibwas heard saying it in an Instagram video, while the fighters and their coach celebrated Islam’s retirement, with good food.
