As per Patrick, the fight with Conor for Khabib looked a bit personal for the host along with the audience. Khabib on being asked about everything that went down between the two fighters, Khabib accepts that he must have lost control, and made the mistake.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Accepts His Mistake

The Nevada State Athletic Commission fined and suspended Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor for their participation in the controversial UFC 229 post-fight brawl. 

After what felt like years of verbal sparring, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor finally faced off in the ring on October 6, 2018. The battle was submitted in the fourth round, but it was far from finished.

McGregor tapped Nurmagomedov, and he momentarily rejoiced. He then jumped out of the cage and started fighting with McGregor’s trainers. When the fight spilled into the cage, McGregor got tangled up in Nurmagomedov’s corner.

Nurmagomedov (27-0), who defeated McGregor by submission in the fourth round to retain his lightweight championship in the UFC, was penalised with a $500k fine and a nine-month suspension. McGregor (21-4) received a six-month ban and a $50,000 fine. 

After almost, what seems like a decade in teh PBD Podcast, Khabib answered, that his fight with Conor McGregor, was supposed to be like any other fight that he fought professionally with the other fighters, but after all the tension and the post-press conference, thing got a bit heated up, and Khabib lost his control inside the ring, also as Conor had made numerous personal statements and how he is known for getting into the nerves of his opponents, things turned out the way it did. Khabib says,” I had been controlling myself, but at the end of the fight I think it was too much.” Khabib then added,” I am a human too, we all make mistakes.”
