Jon Jones shed light on his journey talking about signing Nike Deal
Being the first athlete in his or her discipline to work with such a significant brand is indeed an impressive accomplishment. And he became the first MMA athlete for Nike. During the chat, he was pressed about his Nike Deal.
The interviewer asked him as Jones stated in an ESPN interview that he had an older brother, Arthur, so Jones used to get handed down stuff from his brother. From clothes to shoes, he used to get his brother used stuff. Talking about that, he stated, “It just makes me more grateful as you grow into a man and be able to do nice things and shop for yourself from a place like this (Flight Club NYC). It’s all blessings.”

He added, “I mean the first wrestling shoes which changed the course of my life you know from a place called Play It Again Sports they were used wrestling shoes. And if you see it today you know they are in a trophy case they all taped up. Literally, the shoes were busting out of the bottom of these shoes they’re just a great reminder of the journey that got me to this point.”
For those who are unaware, Jones is the youngest UFC champion in history. As a result, Nike’s choice to partner with Jones paid off as the limited-edition sneakers that were sold out in less than two minutes.
In addition to the launch of his sneaker, the 35-year-old American also introduced his own Nike T-shirt, and both items were quickly sold out. And coming from getting the used shoes to having a Nike deal it indeed sums up the journey of the GOAT Jones.
