Hill vs Pereira: UFC news: Jamahal Hill became the first fighter from Dana White’s Contender Series to win a UFC title when he beat Glover Teixeira for the vacant light heavyweight strap at UFC 283. Alex Pereira saw his teammate Teixeira lose from the corner and has now wanted to face Hill in a possible super-fight. Follow UFC News Updates with InsideSport.IN.

Jiri Prochazka, who vacated the light heavyweight belt due to injury, should get a crack at the title over everyone. But since Prochazka is still to recover, Pereira wanted to have a go at Jamahal Hill as he wrote on social media, “I heard Prochazka is injured. What about knocking me out.”

Jamahal Hill reacted to it in a chat with Ariel Helwani on MMA Hour. He said, “Come on In. I am not scared of nobody. I take it every seriously, challenges.”

Alex Pereira can easily make it to the light heavyweight category. He is a big middleweight and has been pitched to move up to light heavyweight unit by several experts. A clash between him and Jamahal Hill will be intriguing, especially if there’s the UFC title at stake. However, Alex Pereira shall have to defend his middleweight belt first or he can lose it.

Alex Pereira has some middleweight plans too on his mind

Before losing to Pereira, Israel Adesanya held the UFC middleweight title since 2019 and defended it five times. He is viable to get an immediate shot at it. Hence, Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya shall fight again. It shall be their second clash in the UFC, and the fourth in all-over combat. Adesanya is yet to beat Alex Pereira in a professional fight, be it kickboxing or MMA.

Other than Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira has envisioned former champion Robert Whittaker as one of his possible opponents at 185 lbs. Therefore, it may be a bit too early to picture a light-heavyweight move for Alex Pereira.
