Meanwhile, Deontay Wilder and Alex Pereira are also not immune to damage. They have suffered legitimate punishment from their opponents. However, they needed only one clean shot to secure wins. Something which helped Alex Pereira dethrone Israel Adesanya as the middleweight champion.

Ahead of UFC 287, Izzy connected with The Mac Life and shed views on several aspects. When asked whether Alex Pereira is similar to Deontay Wilder, Israel Adesanya agreed wholeheartedly.

The former UFC middleweight champion said, “Yeah, 100% that’s what happened in the last fight. I was winning. I was up even in the second round. He took me at the end. Surprise, I gave him the round but I was winning. I was winning the fight and yeah, I was winning till I wasn’t.”

Alex Pereira snatched the middleweight strap from Adesanya via TKO in round five of the UFC 281 main-event. Despite being below Izzy on the scorecard, Pereira let it all go in the fifth round and unloaded a barrage of shots on his champion opponent.
