A betting favorite of the odds, Adesanya was seen as an underdog under several parameters. After two losses in kickboxing and one at UFC 281 against Pereira, Adesanya seemingly closed the rivalry with a KO win.

The victory was extremely important for Israel Adesanya, as he did in style. The entire Miami-Dade Arena cheered for the new middleweight champion. Meanwhile, social media couldn’t keep their calm either.

From Mike Tyson’s former coach Teddy Atlas to adult performer Kendra Lust, here’s how everyone reacted to Israel Adesanya knocking out Alex Pereira.

Israel Adesanya looked comfortable from the beginning and didn’t rush after his opponent. Meanwhile, Izzy didn’t hold himself either from landing big shots. He tackled Alex Pereira’s combinations and successfully ducked a few kicks.

It all went down to the point where Alex Pereira landed a few big shots in round two. However, Israel Adesanya counter-attacked and impressively connected. He put Alex Pereira to sleep and reclaimed his UFC 185 titles in style. It remains to be seen whether Pereira ad Adesanya would cross paths again in the UFC or not.
