Dan Hooker took shots at Makhachev and accused him of using banned substance IV prior to the UFC 284 clash against Alexander Volkanovski. Hooker boldly made those claims on social media, sending several fans into a frenzy. Meanwhile, Nate Diaz also downplayed the judges’ decision that let Islam Makhachev retain his UFC title.

Alexander Volkanovski didn’t enter the cage to play and Islam Makhachev realized it in the very early stage of their fight. The Aussie displayed immense wrestling defense and didn’t let Islam Makhachev dominate him lopsidedly. He also landed clean shots which fazed the UFC lightweight champion.

Islam Makhachev could take down Volkanovski and control the fight on the ground several times but that didn’t cause much damage to the featherweight champion. On the contrary, Alexander Volkanovski bruised up Islam Makhachev’s face with his heavy-handed shots. After five rounds of a close contest, three judges scored the contest 48-47, 48-49, and 49-46 in favor of Islam Makhachev.
