Impa Kasanganay, a former UFC competitor, will win the light heavyweight championship in the 2023 PFL World Championship, earning him a cool $1 million. The 29-year-old American recently emerged as the new 205-pound champion of PFL 10 in Washington, D.C., after defeating Josh Silveira by unanimous decision in a light heavyweight title match.

In order to start the season, Kasanganay defeated opponents via first-round knockout in the PFL Challenger Series in March. From there, he embarked on a remarkable four-fight winning streak that brought him to the finals.

After accruing a 2-2 record throughout his four fights with the top MMA promotion in the world, Kasanganay was let go in December 2021. The 29-year-old entered the Challenger Series 15 earlier this year after competing once in XMMA and once in Eagle FC following his departure. After his previously mentioned first-round knockout win, Kasanganay signed a PFL contract and is now $1 million wealthier.

Following his triumph against Josh Silveira, Kasanganay made disparaging remarks about Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
