29-0 as a professional, Khabib left the sport in 2020 after beating Justin Gaethje in his last outing. Meanwhile, Tony Ferguson is still active even after losing five fights in a row.
Prior to his next clash against Bobby Green at UFC 291, ‘El Cucuy’ shed light on his rivalry with ‘The Eagle’. Tony Ferguson accused Khabib Nurmagomedov of avoiding a chance to coach at The Ultimate Fighter and eventually face him in UFC.
Ferguson said, “I was supposed to coach on The Ultimate Fighter against Khabib. He is off on his world tour. So, and I guess whatever he had happening. He didn’t have the ba**s to go and coach his cousins.”
“So I already knew that there was something pretty major that had him happening. So, around that time we were in November. When we knew we are gonna coach against him.”
“I had meetings with Hunter and so on so forth. This was game dude. I did everything I needed to in order to get Khabib back. But he ran away like a pu**y. So Fuc* you Khabib.”
Despite retiring three years ago, Khabib Nurmagomedov continues to grab call-outs from the active MMA world. A few weeks back, he was cited a potential grappling opponent for Georges St-Pierre.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem that ‘The Eagle’ would make his way back to the MMA chain system as a competitor. Khabib Nurmagomedov has left the game pretty early while his contemporary fighters continue to compete.
