‘Definitely Gonna Happen Next Year’ Chandler vs Conor’s UFC Fight Next Year? Read Update

McGregor would make a comeback at UFC 300, and Ariel Helwani recently questioned Chandler about the likelihood of that happening.

Michael Chandler is adamant that he will be the opponent Conor McGregor welcomes back to the UFC in 2024.

The last time McGregor entered the cage for his trilogy match against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 was more than two years ago. Unfortunately, McGregor’s broken tibia ended the fight.

The 35-year-old Conor McGregor was supposed to help create anticipation for his comeback by coaching with Chandler on Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, but sadly, he won’t be competing again until at least sometime in 2019.

How Michael Chandler Feels About His Chances Of Fighting Conor McGregor?

Fans have frequently speculated that McGregor would make a comeback at UFC 300, and Ariel Helwani recently questioned Chandler about the likelihood of that happening.

“Nobody would like the hypothesizing to stop more than me,” Chandler said on The MMA Hour. “I don’t have any information. Obviously [UFC 300] would be a dream scenario. That’s when I would like to fight, where I would like to fight, who I would wanna fight…It’s definitely gonna happen next year.”

Fan enthusiasm in a Chandler vs. McGregor battle was stoked by several intense exchanges between them during their time on The Ultimate Fighter, but in recent months, “The Notorious” hasn’t held back when he has called out other fighters for his comeback fight.

Fans and competitors have speculated that Chandler should move on from the McGregor matchup at this point, but “Iron” insists that when the Irishman does make a UFC return at some point in the upcoming year, he will be the one standing opposite of him.
