Dana White Appoints New UFC Matchmaker- “I Hired Joe”

UFC gave fans the opportunity to compete for a chance to book one UFC bout for a day.

Thanks to a fan contest, the UFC has expanded its crew of matchmakers.

The UFC offered fans the chance to participate in a competition where they had to create their ideal fight card for a matchmaker contest. The competition’s winner received a trip to Las Vegas, where they met UFC CEO Dana White and attended a matchmaker meeting.

Joe Reeves, who placed first, had obligations that lasted far longer than a single day. Reeves’ knowledge so impressed White that he employed him on a full-time basis.

In a recent “matchmaker sweepstakes” competition, UFC gave fans the opportunity to compete for a chance to book one UFC bout for a day. Undoubtedly, there was a good reason for this, but in the end, UFC President Dana White said, it didn’t matter. Reeves was so knowledgeable about the UFC that White decided to formally bring him on board.

“You wanna know how f****** good Joe is?” White asked at the Contender Series post-fight presser. “I just hired Joe. Joe works for us now. Yeah. This f****** kid is awesome.”

Reeves, according to White, got to work immediately away and scheduled a bout between Cody Garbrandt and a former UFC bantamweight champion.
