Since his announcement of his return earlier this year, Conor McGregor has been involved in many bout conversations. His chances of making a comeback are heating up, since he hasn’t battled inside the octagon since suffering a terrible leg break more than two years ago.
All the evidence led to Michael Chandler being his opponent on his comeback, but that fight seemed less and less plausible by the day. The two appeared together on screen in the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter, and it was announced that they would fight after the program concluded, but that hasn’t happened yet.
Dustin Poirier has put his name in the hat, and both fighters are open to the prospect of facing off for the fourth battle at the next UFC 300 event, given the uncertainty surrounding McGregor’s next opponent.
In less than two months, 2023 will come to a close, and fans are already excited about what the UFC has planned for 2020. Dana White has already revealed a number of eagerly awaited bouts for the beginning of 2024, but one particular event is drawing the most attention.
