During the weighs for Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford, an unexpected altercation stormed the internet on Friday after Caleb Plant landed a vicious strike on Jermall Charlo. The reason behind the altercation is still unknown; however, the fans are still puzzled about why the altercation occurred. Former UFC champion Conor McGregor recently commented on it in a now-deleted tweet.
The video that surfaced online shows Caleb Plant slapping Jarmall Charlo backstage. Surprisingly, Charlo didn’t respond to the slap and just walked away while the others prevented Plant from any further action. Following the incident, Conor McGregor took to his Twitter to react to Charlo’s silence after being slapped.
“Get right back here this second Sir, you’re going nowhere till we settle this dispute here and now. Wtf is going on there? Clean cracked and let’s him walk out? No. Nope. Nah. Not a f—kin’ hope.”
Among the attendees, two notable figures were present: Plant, a former IBF super middleweight champion, and Charlo, an undefeated WBC middleweight champion. Both are top names in the middleweight division with successful boxing careers. Unfortunately, their recent altercation has shocked the fans.
Meanwhile, Charlo, who has held his title since 2018, was initially anticipated to face Canelo Alvarez in the near future. However, his twin brother, Jermell, will step up and take on that challenge this September.
