Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou’s UFC title reign is still relevant amongst MMA fans, who compared it to WWE star Brock Lesnar’s UFC title reign. Brock Lesnar became the heavyweight champion in 2008 and held the title till 2010. In between, he defended the belt twice before losing it against Cain Velasquez. A social media page posted a picture of Brock Lesnar and cited how he has a greater UFC title reign than Francis Ngannou. Here’s a look at it.

Francis Ngannou secured the UFC heavyweight championship by knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 260. He then defended the title by outclassing Ciryl Gane via a unanimous decision at UFC 270. With just one successful title defense, Francis Ngannou left the MMA promotion and left a massive star void in the heavyweight division.

Now that Jon Jones has stepped into the division, Ciryl Gane will have his second attempt at the UFC gold. It remains to be seen whether Jon Jones can be dominant in the heavyweight division or fall prey to Gane’s skills. That said, it’s not just Francis Ngannou who has been compared to Brock Lesnar. Light heavyweight legend Jon Jones has faced a similar fortune in the past.
