Twitch streamer ‘wantep’ was banned on December 21 from the platform for posting a sexually evocative message featuring an Among Us character. Twitch has a strong regulation policy against such violations. It has also banned creators and streamers overuse of specific words or user-created art in the past. Many times they have been banned pertaining to any sexual content. Among Us, Twitch, wantep, sexually provocative, Twitch, Twitch Ban

Streamer wantep’s art wasn’t in the form of emoticons. It was rather in the original classic ASCII text, whereby he had used characters and letters for creating the art – and Among Us character. However, the explicit part is the erected genital of the character. Although, he could justify it under the pretext of creative expression. In the end it depends on Twitch and its regulatory guidelines to decide how they want to give room to creativity.

On December 21, the automated Twitter account Streamer Bans confirmed the news of wantep’s Twitch account being suspended, leaving the rest for the streamer to explain. Following it, the streamer posted his art in the comment section.

The art could have multiple interpretations, but wantep had a clear answer. He said it was a ASCII text art of an Among Us character with an male genitalia. Twitteratis had mixed opinions regarding this ban, with some hilarious comments alongside.

The streamer posted Twitch’s email that was sent to him which states “sexually suggestive conduct” as the reason behind the ban. It also pointed that sexual “drawn or sculptured” art can result to taking disciplinary action.

In any case the suspension length of wantep’s account will be for three days. However, he hasn’t been much vocal regarding the upliftment of his ban. Maybe he doesn’t want to create a lot of buzz around the issue and lay low till the issue is resolved.
