Both Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have been recently involved in quite a few interesting games. The first match was during the 2022 Asia Cup where Afghanistan comfortably defeated the Island nation. However, Sri Lanka made a resounding comeback during the Super four encounter against the same team and defeated. The two sides again met in the T20 World Cup where Sri Lanka defeated their Asian counterpart again.

As mentioned above, the first game of the series will be played on November 25 with the third and final ODI slated to take place on November 30. All three games will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. While Dasun Shanaka will lead the home side, Afghanistan will be under the leadership of their senior batter Hashmatullah Shahidi.
ICC ODI Super League 2023: This will be a crucial series for SriLanka. Dasun Shanaka & Co are languishing at 10th spot and are in danger of missing out on a direct entry. They may have to go through first-round with SouthAfrica also likely to be competing.
Afghanistan are 7th. But any slip-up can boost WestIndies’ chances of direct qualification. Top 8 teams will directly qualify for Super 12.
